Want Something Tailored to Your Project?

If you are planning on having the boys do independent research using any of these sources, please do not hesitate to reach out to Raegan to create a project-specific LibGuide. ALL students have been trained in the use of LibGuides, databases and NoodleTools!

Read Aloud Guidelines

Live Read Alouds:

Live read alouds should be fine as long as they are done within a closed system (only available to your students at the time you are doing them - Zoom or Google Hangouts are great examples of this) and as long as you and the school do not profit in any way.

Recorded Read Alouds:

Based on the guidance from many of the major publishing companies here are best practices for recording read alouds.

1. You and/or the school may not profit in any way from the read aloud.

2. Post on a closed platform that is password protected (Use Loom or YouTube on "unlisted" and post link to MySTA)

3. Remove the videos at the end of the school year and no later than June 30, 2020.

4. IF the publisher has specific guidelines such as emailing to notify or tagging them in social media (You can ask Raegan to do this via the @ParrottLibrary account on Twitter) be sure to follow all steps (See tab above - "Publisher Permission" for specifics)
